Prison time for a Ferndale man who crashed his car, killing his father.
Andrian Mondragon was behind the wheel when a Lynden police officer tried to pull him over for a license plate violation early last August 3rd.
Mondragon sped off on Birch Bay/Lynden Road and turned off his car’s lights.
The officer stopped the pursuit out of concern for the public’s safety.
The car was later found crashed in a cornfield with Mondragon’s father dead outside the vehicle.
Investigators determined Mondragon was the driver and had fled the scene.
The Bellingham Herald reports he’s been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
