It was the Bellingham and Port Angeles Coast Guard to the rescue near Anacortes Tuesday night.

A 30-foot sailboat got stuck on some rocks and began taking on water.

A Coast Guard crew from Bellingham was first on the scene, but couldn’t get to the boater, who made his way to a nearby island.

A helicopter crew from the Port Angeles Coast Guard station arrived about 20 minutes later and hoisted the man up.

He was treated for signs of mild hypothermia.
