BELLINGHAM, Wash – A former PeaceHealth Medical Group doctor has been charged with professional misconduct for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a patient he was treating for breast cancer.
The Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission says Andrew L. Kominsky admitted to having feelings for the patient, who has since died.
The Bellingham Herald reports PeaceHealth Medical Group investigated the allegations, determined the relationship was of a sexual nature, and fired Kominsky in May of 2016.
Kominsky, who started work for PeaceHealth in 2008, has since moved to California and is practicing medicine there now.
