BELLINGHAM, WASH. – DNA helps Bellingham Police put a robber with a long criminal history in prison.

Last July, an armed man in a blonde wig and sunglasses robbed the Yorky’s Market.

The Bellingham Herald reports police got DNA from the wig after the man abandoned it nearby and matched it to 13-time felon Joshua John Vermaat.

Police arrested Vermaat over a week later when he crashed a stolen motorcycle during a police chase, leading to a slew of other charges.

On Thursday, Vermaat pled guilty in both incidents and as part of a plea deal received a seven-year prison sentence.
