MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – Thousands of people rallied in Anacortes at the site of two refineries last year.

Most were convicted of second-degree criminal trespass, which is a misdemeanor.

But Seattle Weekly reports the latest Skagit County trial ended with a hung jury.

One of the jurors even thanked the protestors.

Prosecutors moved immediately for a retrial.

A scheduling hearing is plannedĀ for May.
