OLYMPIA, WASH. – Democrats and Republicans are starting a special legislative session in Olympia.

Fingers are pointing across the aisle as the sides failed to craft a new state budget.

Democratic Representative Kristine Lytton says she is frustrated because her Republican colleagues, “have not been governing.”

Meanwhile GOP leader Mark Schoesler says Democrats are trying to spend imaginary money.

“Negotiating with ghost dollars is particularly difficult,” Schoesler says.

The big budgetary issue is still the court-mandated McCleary decision, which requires the state to fully fund K-12 education.

The legislative session ended Sunday.
