The Seattle Mariners have optioned infielder Mike Freeman to AAA Tacoma. General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced the move Monday with a corresponding roster move expected to be announced Tuesday.
The 29-year-old Freeman hit .111 with 3 runs, 1 home run and 1 RBI in 8 games with the Mariners after being selected from AAA Tacoma on April 11. In 13 games with Seattle last season, he hit .385 with 1 run, 1 double and 1 RBI after being acquired off waivers from Arizona on Aug. 1, 2016.
Freeman was originally selected by Arizona in the 11th round of the 2010 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Clemson University.
