The Seattle Mariners lost their best hitter to injury Tuesday night in Detroit. According to the Associated Press, outfielder Mitch Haniger suffered a strained oblique during a third inning at-bat against the Tigers.

Haniger picked up a single off of Jordan Zimmerman. He left the game after aggravating the injury diving back to first base on a pick-off attempt. Haniger was replaced by Danny Valencia.
Hanniger, who had two hits on the night, is hitting .338 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI’s on the season.
