BELLINGHAM, WASH. – A Bellingham 12-year-old somehow got a rope swing wrapped around his neck, requiring CPR to stay alive.

Police say firefighters performed the life-saving procedure Saturday after the boy accidentally got caught in the swing.

Police say he was evidently playing outside by himself at his home in the 3200 block of Edwards Street.

The school district says the seventh grader attends Kulshan Middle School.

Police say he was taken to Seattle Children’s Hospital.
