BELLINGHAM, WASH. – The Bellingham Bells need more host families for the players.

Bells General Manager Stephanie Morrell says collegiate baseball players begin to arrive later this month and stay through mid-August.

“One of the biggest benefits is the lifetime relationships, keeping in touch with these guys when they get to the minors, when they get to the majors. It’s not uncommon to have their host families sitting next to mom and dad when they make their first big league start,” Morrell says.

The players spend about half of their time on the road.

Host families are expected to provide meals for players when they are in town.

They get complimentary tickets to all home games and other perks for taking players in.
