SEATTLE – The Bellingham boy involved in a rope swing accident last weekend has passed way.
Benny Capp was 12 years old.
Bellingham Police Sgt. Dave Johnson says was found hanging from the rope on Saturday at a home in the Whatcom Falls Neighborhood.
Firefighters used CPR to keep him alive.
The Kulshan Middle School student was rushed to Children’s Hospital where he died Wednesday.
Johnson says the King County Medical Examiner is doing an autopsy and the investigation continues.
But he adds, there’s nothing to indicate it was anything other than a tragic accident.
Bellingham Schools spokesperson Jacqueline Brawley says the district’s mobile response team is at Kulshan.
It includes a group of counselors to provide support.
