OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Women can get a 12 month refill of their birth control prescriptions instead of a month at a time thanks to bill signed by Governor Inslee.

“Given what is going on in our nation’s capital right now, it is even more important for Washington State to stand with the women of the state of Washington, to allow full access to family planning services. And I’m glad we’re making progress in the real Washington, which is Washington State.”

Starting next year, any health plan issued or renewed that includes contraceptive coverage must reimburse for a year supply and allow patients to get the drugs at the provider’s office.
