The Seattle Mariners called up another relief pitcher and traded for a new outfielder Wednesday.  The M’s have recalled right-hander Rob Whalen from AAA Tacoma and sent down fellow righty Emilio Pagan to the Rainiers.

The Mariners announced a trade Wednesday.  They get outfielder Andrew Aplin from Houston for a player to be named later or cash considerations.  Aplin was hitting .250 with a home run and 13 RBI’s with AAA Fresno this season.

M’s General Manager Jerry Dipoto announced the moves Wednesday. To make room on the 40-man roster pitcher Chris Heston has been designated for assignment.
