A pair of Whatcom County high school softball teams begin state tournament play today. The Sehome girls beat Ridgefield 14-12 in Selah. The Mariners advance to play Port Angeles at 4:00pm.
The Lynden Christian girls lost their opener 1-0 to Lakeside (Nine Mile Falls) in 9 innings in Richland. The Lyncs now face Zillah in a loser-out game.
