WOODINVILLE, Wash. (AP) – The man who married his former sixth-grade teacher after she raped him is now filing for legal separation.
King County court records show Vili Fualaau, 33, is asking the court for a separation from Mary Kay Letourneau, 55.
Letourneau is a former teacher who became tabloid fodder when she was convicted in 1997 of raping the then 12 year old.
She was 34 and a married mother of four at the time.
The couple married in Woodinville in 2005 after she served a more-than-seven-year prison term.
They have two daughters together.
