FERNDALE, Wash. – Kids at 3 Ferndale schools are complaining about a nasty smell, and 3 children say they’re feeling sick because of it.
Horizon Middle School and Cascadia, Skyline and Eagleridge Elementary schools’ students were inside with windows shut at about 12:30 p.m.
Three Horizon students say the fumes caused them to become nauseous, but John Gargett, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management spokesman, says nobody has been taken to the hospital.

All Horizon students are being bussed to Ferndale High School.
Horizon parents who normally pick up their kids need to do that at Ferndale High School at 2:40 p.m.
The school district says it is okay for students who usually walk home to do so.
Crews from all the industrial complexes in the area as well as Cascade Natural Gas are inspecting their facilities and testing the air.
Firefighters are on the scene and Whatcom County Emergency Management is assisting.
The source of the odor still has not been confirmed.
