LUMMI NATION, Wash – A toddler is dead after getting hit by a car on tribal land north of Bellingham.
The State Patrol says one-year-old Erin Jackson was playing in a driveway off of Dike Road on the Lummi Reservation.
Troopers say 63-year-old Ruth Brock was backing out and hit the girl at about eight o’clock last Friday .
Investigators blame inattention; charges are pending.
