OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – The state is failing to ensure that students with behavioral disabilities get an education instead of just kicked out of school according to the ACLU.
It filed a lawsuit that says the state must find a way to educate students with conditions such as bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and Asperger’s syndrome.
The lawsuit says, districts across the state suspend and expel special-education students at more than twice the rate of their peers.
