BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Residents inside a Bellingham home watched in amazement Saturday as a black bear climbed onto their deck in broad daylight and made himself comfortable.
YouTube videos show the bear eating from a hanging bird feeder, drinking from a bird bath and scratching its back on a post as it lounges on the deck’s railing.
After the stop at the home in the Tweed Twenty neighborhood northeast of Bellingham city limits, the bear was seen headed toward Britton Road.

The residents say they reported the bear’s shocking visit to Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The bear has been seen around the area for the last week or so, according to comments on social media.
Sightings of black bears have also been reported in the Blaine and Custer areas, as well as the Lummi Reservation and Lummi Island in recent weeks.
