SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. – A union representing farm workers says it’s reached a contract agreement with Sakuma Brothers Farms in Skagit County.

Union President Ramon Torres says its a good deal for workers.

He told the Bellingham Herald that the deal provides some of the best wages for farm workers in the state.

The two year deal also lays the groundwork for health benefits and protects workers from unreasonable firings.

A statement from Sakuma says the pact creates a mutually beneficial partnership.
