BELLINGHAM, Wash. – When Bellingham High School grads get their diplomas Friday a woman old enough to be their great-grandmother will be with them.
The students invited Betty Tawes to participate in their graduation ceremony and she accepted.
Current Bellingham principal Linda Miller says the 90-year-old earned her diploma late last year, 75-years after she started high school.
Bellingham’s graduation is scheduled for 6:30 tomorrow (Friday) evening in the high school auditorium.
