GOLD RIVER, B.C. – A 4-point-6 magnitude earthquake rattled central Vancouver Island just before 10:30 Monday morning.

People reported feeling the quake lightly across the center of the island and from as far away as Point Roberts.

The quake was centered near the tip of the Cascadia subduction zone where the Juan de Fuca Plate is sliding under the North America Plate.
