WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – Another positive employment report for Whatcom County.
May numbers show the county added 2,200 jobs from the same time last year, including 18-hundred in construction.
Manufacturing saw a 600-job increase, but that was offset by State Government, which shed the same number of positions.
Most of the recent growth is happening in the private sector.
The four-point-seven-percent unemployment rate is more than one-percent lower than last year and identical to last month.
