Luca Sbisa is heading to Las Vegas. The defenseman was selected by the Golden Knights from the Vancouver Canucks non-protected roster Wednesday in the NHL Expansion Draft.

Sbisa had been with Vancouver since 2014, after being acquired in a trade with the Anaheim Ducks.  He has one year remaining on his contract.

The 2008 first round draft choice played in a total of 199 games for the Canucks, scoring 7 goals to go along with 25 assists.

The Las Vegas Golden Knights begin play this coming season as the 31st NHL club.
