WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – While the Bellingham City Council is not ready to pull the trigger on an agreement for a new Whatcom County jail, the other cities are all in.
The Lynden Tribune reports Lynden, Ferndale, Blaine, Sumas, Everson and Nooksack all signed off on the jail plan.
Any changes made to the agreement at the request of Bellingham would have to be approved by the small cities.
The county council must act by August first to get the jail measure on the November Ballot.
