KOMO reports the Skyway boy took the vehicle without permission, picked up some friends and bought fireworks Tuesday morning.
The King County Sheriff’s Office says the teen brought the SUV home and he and his friends began shooting fireworks at each other, but accidentally shot one into the SUV.
The vehicle became engulfed in flames when the boys couldn’t get the lit firework out.
No one was hurt, but fire crews say the SUV is a total loss.
