BELLINGHAM, Wash. – We should know a whole lot more about the proposal for a new Whatcom County Jail after the next couple of days.
The Bellingham City Council is expected to decide whether to support a new jail agreement with the county.
County Executive Jack Louws explains where the jail would be built.
“The plan is for the jail to be on the LaBounty Road property, in Ferndale.”
Tuesday, the County Council is scheduled to vote on putting a tax increase to pay for a new jail on the November Ballot.
