Three Washington State football players have made preseason watch lists for prominent awards. According to a Seattle Times report, quarterback Luke Falk and offensive guard Cody O’Connell are on the Maxwell Award watch list which goes to the nations best player. Defensive end Hercules Mata’afa is on the Bednarik Award watch list which goes to the best defensive player in the country.

Falk threw for over 44-hundred yards and 38 touchdowns last year as a junior. O’Connell won unanimous All-American honors during his junior campaign last season and Mata’afa was named an All-Pac-12 second team selection after leading the Cougars in sacks as a sophomore in 2016.
