ANACORTES, Wash. – The expansion of a Skagit County oil refinery remains on track.
Regulators say making the Tesoro Anacortes Refinery bigger wouldn’t have a significant impact on the environment.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the refinery can now apply for the permits it needs from several local, state and federal agencies.
The expansion will allow the plant to extract xylene and ship it overseas.
The compound is used to manufacture things like plastic.
