BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Whatcom County man is going to prison for 15 months for molesting two girls.
A girl told her counselor in 2013 that Chad Fitzgerald had molested her 2 years earlier.
The Bellingham Herald reports that during the investigation, another girl came forward and said she hadn’t reported similar abuse earlier because she wanted to forget Fitzgerald assaulted her multiple times.
A Department of Corrections report shows Fitzgerald, who’s now 37, had been accused of molestation four other times by boys.
Those alleged assaults occurred when Fitzgerald was a teen, and in the last few years; but charges were either dropped or never filed.
