WASHINGTON DC (AP) – Safeway wasn’t reporting drug thefts in a timely manner, so now it must pay millions of dollars.
The Justice Department says the grocery store chain agreed to pay $3 million related to lax controls at pharmacies.
An investigation found that Safeway pharmacies frequently failed to report drug thefts in time.
