Four Seattle Mariners minor leaguers took a mighty expensive Uber ride this week. According to an ESPN.com report Mark Lowe, D.J Peterson, Dan Vogelbach and Pat Light of the Tacoma Rainiers paid $683.52 for an Uber ride from Phoenix, Arizona to Albuquerque, New Mexico on Monday.
The four players were forced to turn to Uber after they chose to avoid a 3am wake-up call and travel separately from the rest of triple-A squad and book their own flight.
The Uber trip took seven hours and the players made it to the game versus the Isotopes. Tacoma lost the game 6-5. Vogelbach went 1-for-4, Peterson 0-for-3, while Lowe and Light did not pitch.
No word on the size of the tip, but according to the report, the players gave their Uber driver 5-stars.
