LUMMI IS, Wash. – Lummi Island residents get to decide if the island should have a parks and recreation district.
The Whatcom County Council put the measure on the November ballot.
The proposed district encompasses all of Lummi Island.
Voters will also choose five commissioners to govern the district.
If you’re interested in running for commissioner, you can file on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday of next week.
