OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Washington state will keep a small fraction of a 280-million-dollar national settlement involving a pharmaceutical company accused of fraud.
State Attorney General Bob Ferguson said from 2000 to 2015, Celgene Corp. promoted two drugs for unapproved cancer treatments and made false or misleading statements.
Celgene denied any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay the federal government, 28 states and D.C. to settle a whistleblower claim.
The state will keep about 368-thousand-dollars for its Medicaid program.
