SAMISH IS., Wash. – Big ships can be annoying to people on land when they’re anchored offshore.
The Skagit Valley Herald reports the Coast Guard is looking to establish official sites for vessels to drop anchor.
Several of the proposed spots are in northwest Washington.
Ships are already a nuisance for Samish Island residents.
They complain about the lights, sounds, and odors that come from the vessels.
The Coast Guard is taking public comment on the proposal through August 9th.
