BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A Bellingham Pot testing lab’s license is suspended.

The State Liquor and Cannabis Board shut down Peak Analytics.

The Seattle Times reports inspectors found that Peak’s testing for things that can make people sick was inadequate.

KGMI Cannabis expert Aaron Nelson with 20-20 Solutions says retailers count on the labs to be accurate.

“You have an expectation that those testing processes are consistent from lab to lab. Not only the microbial standpoint, molds, mildew, that sort of thing; but also your potency, your THC, CBD.”

Some in the industry are also complaining that Peak’s potency testing is finding THC levels higher than what’s present.

Inspectors do have some concerns about the lab’s potency testing, but they didn’t find that Peak is delivering results that are too high.
