LOS ANGELES, Cali. (AP) – Amanda Knox is offering her support to a woman convicted of manslaughter for encouraging her suicidal boyfriend to kill himself.
In an op-ed piece in the Los Angeles Times, Knox wrote that Michelle Carter deserves sympathy and help, not a jail sentence.
Carter was sentenced to 15 months in jail for the 2014 death of 18-year-old Conrad Roy.
The Massachusetts woman was 17-at the time.
Knox was convicted in the 2007 killing of Meredith Kercher in Italy.
She spent four years in jail until the Italian Supreme Court exonerated her in 2015.
