OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) – Environmental groups are demanding the State be more transparent about managing the growing population of wolves.

They want the Department of Fish and Wildlife to provide timely information on each wolf pack, wolf deaths, wolf attacks on livestock and more.

Wolves were hunted to extinction in the early 1900s.

They began to return from neighboring areas in the early 2000s.
