LYNDEN, Wash – A local legislator has been newly appointed to the Washington State Arts Commission.
Luanne Van Werven represents the 42nd Legislative District and has been appointed by the legislature to serve an open ended term on the Arts Commission.
The commission runs a variety of arts programs in Washington State, including programs funded with $800,000 of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Van Werven will contribute to the budgeting and grant allocation work of the commission.
