Jimmy Shane and the Miss HomeStreet are your Seafair hydroplane champions despite not crossing the finish line first. in a deck-to-deck last lap Andrew Tate and the U-9 Les Schwab Tires boat came in first in the winner-take-all final heat on Lake Washington Sunday. Ultimately though, a penalty would decide it all.
Tate hit a buoy before the start of the final heat and was assessed a 1-minute penalty, giving the Albert Lee Appliance Cup at Seafair title to Shine. Instead of taking the win, the penalty moved Tate to last place.
Following the penalty, The U-12 Graham Trucking finished second with the U-21 Albert Lee Appliance finishing third
Shane ,who hails from Renton, is chasing after his 5th APBA national high-point championship.

The Unlimited hydros race next in Detroit the weekend of August 25th. They will compete in the the President’s Cup and APBA Gold Cup.
