BURLINGTON, Wash. – A Bellingham man was not hurt, but a Mount Vernon man was taken to the hospital after a crash on I-5 in Skagit County Monday.

The State Patrol said 79-year-old Gene Clark swerved to avoid an SUV slowing down in front of him near the Chuckanut exit.

Troopers said he then overcorrected and rolled twice.

An ambulance took him to Skagit Valley Hospital.

Clark faces negligent driving charges.

63-year-old Christopher Stockard of Bellingham was driving the SUV and wasn’t hurt.
