BELLINGHAM, Wash. –  The latest jobs report for Whatcom County revealed more jobs and a lower unemployment rate.

The county added 2,100 jobs in July, compared to a year earlier. All the growth was in the private sector.

Manufacturing led the job increases, adding 600 positions. Construction followed close behind, adding 500 positions.

The unemployment rate is down to 4.7 percent. This is a 1.3 percent decrease from last year.
