SEATTLE (AP) – The Federal Government won’t block Seattle-based Amazon’s takeover of Whole Foods.

A union that represents food-industry workers asked regulators to scrutinize the deal, saying it could hurt competition and lead to job cuts.

Earlier, Whole Foods shareholders voted to approve the nearly $14 billion acquisition.

Along with more than 460 stores, Amazon would potentially acquire valuable data about how shoppers behave off-line.

Whole Foods has a store on Lakeway in Bellingham.
