BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Whatcom County residents noticed hazy skies as air quality briefly decreased Tuesday.
Air flowing from Bellingham Bay helped clear smoke from Central Washington wildfires impacting the area.
Air quality in Bellingham, Custer and Maple Falls was classified as either “Monderate” or “Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups” by the Washington State Department of Ecology monitoring network. As of Wednesday morning, air quality was classified as “Good” in the area.
Cooler temperatures are expected Wednesday and Thursday with the onshore airflow.
