BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The city will tear down two homes on Lynn Street in Bellingham.
The City Council gave final approval for the demolition Monday night.
Councilmember Roxanne Murphy said the houses are in poor shape, with “rodent problems and all kinds of trash.”
“It’s detrimental to neighborhoods to have properties like this,” Murphy said.
A court found the houses are a public nuisance.
Steven Baker owns the houses. Baker will continue to own the properties after the buildings are torn down.
The city said it tried to work with Baker to no avail.
