SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – The man arrested in the kidnapping of a Cheney marijuana store employee gave a jailhouse confession to a Spokane television station.
Donovan Culps told KHQ he shot Cameron Smith several times after Smith declined to sell him pot because he didn’t have identification.
Culps said he was having a bad day and that Smith “got the ugly side of it.”
Police said Culps kidnapped Smith from the parking lot of the marijuana store a little over a week ago, as Smith was eating his lunch.
Culps told KHQ he dumped Smith’s body and abandoned the car.
Police arrested Culps in Goldendale on Thursday.
