MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – It turned out to be a hoax, but many Mount Vernon High School students stayed home anyway on Wednesday after a threat caused concern with students, parents and staff.
KOMO reports several high school students notified school administrators Tuesday after they overheard a concerning conversation between other students.
The threat was not specified, the assistant superintendent said, and police determined that the threat was not credible.
The school notified parents and had extra police on campus Wednesday as a precaution.
