BELINGHAM, Wash – The Bellingham Police Department is the local site for a national effort Saturday.
The BPD is teaming up with the Drug Enforcement Administration in a national take back day, targeting opioids and other prescription medications.
Anyone can bring pills and solid medications to the police department on Grand Avenue in Bellingham from 10am – 2pm Saturday to anonymously return drugs for free disposal with no questions asked.
The DEA says the effort helps prevent prescription drugs from getting into the wrong hands, or into rivers and streams after improper disposal.
