NORTH CASCADES, Wash.- The North Cascades Highway is closed temporarily for a second time this fall.
State Department of Transportation crews closed Highway 20’s gates at Diablo and Mazama.
Snow forecast for this weekend and increased avalanche danger prompted the closure.
The department closes the road every winter, but they still hope to re-open the road this fall if the weather allows it.
