MT. BAKER NATIONAL FOREST, Wash – Two teens are in the hospital and a totaled Chevy Blazer will have to be retrieved later after a DUI crash high up on Mount Baker Saturday night.
The Washington State Patrol says a 16- year old Sedro Woolley driver was heading down the mountain near mile post 51 of the Mt. Baker highway, when he veered off the road and down a 250 foot embankment.
Passengers in the SUV included Jasmin Scott, age 19 of Bellingham; Tiana Ramer, age 18 of Lynden, and a 17- year old male from Blaine.
Neither the driver nor the 17- year old from Blaine were wearing seatbelts; both sustained injuries and were taken to St. Joseph’s hospital
Scott and Ramer both were wearing seatbelts and were reported by troopers as uninjured but were taken to St. Joseph’s as a precaution.
The Sedro-Woolley driver was charged with DUI.
